How to inject fat dissolving injections?
The injection process will vary from product to product. However, a general procedure is often followed and serves as a guide to appropriately perform the administration of the fat dissolving solution.
The process involves a treatment protocol that includes the injection technique, needle type, injection depth, method of administration and dosage, to name a few. Sometimes, pre-treatment and aftercare instructions are included to optimize the results and lessen the side effects.

The treatment protocol
Four phases, from preparation through to aftercare.
Pre-Treatment
Before the appointment- Avoid certain products two days before and after treatment.
- Shave the treatment area one day before, if applicable.
- Do not apply creams, lotions, or makeup to the treatment area.
- Reschedule for severe rashes, cold sores, or blemishes in the treatment area.
Skin Preparation
In the treatment room- Cleaning & shaving: clean the treatment area with alcohol and shave the entire target area.
- Design: mark the divided region for one ampoule and draw a 1 cm grid on the target area.
- Anesthesia: administer 2% Lidocaine injection for local anesthesia. This step is optional.
Administration
Method, depth and dosage- Choose the appropriate injection method based on the treatment plan and patient needs. Options include spread by cannula, injection by needle, or application by meso-roller.
- Insert the needle or cannula into the fat layer at a depth recommended for the specific area being treated. Maintain a consistent distance of 1–2 cm between injection points for even coverage.
- Administer the lipolytic solution with volumes ranging from 0.2–1 cc per square centimetre. Adhere to the recommended total volume of 20–40 cc per treatment session.
- Depending on the chosen method, employ these specific techniques:
- For needle injections: use a pinching technique, insert a 1-inch 30G needle in a vertical direction, and perform spread infiltration.
- For cannula spread: insert the cannula with medicine and perform backward spreading.
- For meso-roller application: apply the meso-roller evenly across the treatment area.
Aftercare
The following 48 hours- Avoid strenuous exercise or exposing the treatment area to extreme temperatures for 48 hours.
- Avoid medications and supplements that may increase bruising for 48 hours.
- Apply ice for the first day to reduce discomfort and swelling.
- Sleep on your back with an elevated head to further decrease the swelling.
- Do not massage the injection site.
- Ice packs are recommended for the first 12 hours.
